“Hi there! I’m Miss Jen,
your very own

Potty Training Coach.
So nice to meet you!”

Not just a consultation.

Not just a phone call.

Not a pre-written protocol that someone else wrote as a generic cookie-cutter script to read from.

Not just a 60 minute conversation and then you’re sent on your way to go fend for yourself, as with most consultants:
"Okay here's your advice, good luck. Byeeeeee…"

Quite the opposite here actually: I stay with you, by your side until the end of your potty training journey! We become partners until you feel your child has successfully completed this very important milestone.

I will personally listen to your unique situation and together we will create personalized recommendations based on your individual child and your own situation. Your consultation isn't a pre-written nospecific script or one-size-fits-all program like many others out there.

I will take the time to talk with you about your family's unique situation, ask the right questions, and draw on my decades of experience to provide recommendations specifically tailored to your child and your challenges in YOUR home.

You're not getting a standardized set of instructions designed for every child. Your consultation is a personal conversation with ME: Miss Jen, who will listen to your concerns and create a game plan based on your child's needs, your circumstances, and the specific challenges you're facing with your child.

I am here for the long haul. I am in it to win it! I will stick with you for several weeks/months (however long it takes) to help you determine the most effective way to navigate your potty training achievements. I’ll be there to offer you daily support and a customized game plan specific to your individual situation.

  • resistance, power struggles

  • fears, anxiety

  • control issues, ODD

  • sensory processing

  • communication, speech delays

  • developmental differences

  • previous unsuccessful attempts

  • poop withholding/constipation

I would like to emphasize:

A child who isn't potty trained by age three isn't necessarily a child who needs a stricter rigid potty-training method. Sometimes the more important question is:
Why is your child still struggling?”

I’m going to be there with you all the way to the finish line!

Specializing in Tough Potty Training Edge Cases
Edge cases are defined as unusual delays, problematic patterns, regressions, or physical & psychological responses that fall outside the standard timeline or expected sequence of the potty training milestone on an age appropriate timeline.
This can be stressful for your child and for you as the parent.

    Common Potty Training Edge Cases

    • The Poop Holder: Your child is okay with peeing in a potty or toilet successfully, but holds bowel movement (BM) for days, resulting in painful pooping, constipation, and stool impaction. This fear of release is also known as bowel withholding or anal retention. Your child refuses to poop anywhere but in a diaper or pull-up, often hiding somewhere private, for example: behind furniture.

    • Sudden Unexplained Regression: Your fully trained child suddenly starts having frequent accidents, often triggered by a life transition such as a new baby sibling, moving to a new house, travel, illness, or starting daycare/preschool.

    • The Stealth Eliminator: Withholding both urine and/or stool for unhealthy periods of time, leading to physical discomfort, severe constipation, impaction, or urinary tract issues, kidney & bladder infections. (UTIs)

    • The Hyper-Focus F.O.M.O: Your child who is highly capable of toileting but gets so deeply absorbed in play activities, screen time, or reading that they consistently ignore bladder/bowel urges until it is too late. Not self initiating.

    • Night Time Bedwetting / Nocturnal Enuresis: Your child remains completely dry and accident free all day long, but continues to wet the bed heavily at night, waking up soaked past age 5 or 6.

    • Sensory Processing Meltdowns & Power Struggles: Extreme distress or refusal caused by sensory sensitivities, unfamiliar environment, triggers such as flickering lights, loud echo, scary automatic flushing toilets, cold toilet seat, unstable or ungrounded feeling of dangling feet up on a big adult toilet.

How Miss Jen Will Help You Navigate Your Challenging Situations

    • Rule out medical issues: Consultation assessment phone call to rule out chronic constipation, painful urination, sensory sensitivities & behavioral issues. Lack of interoceptive awareness? Negative associations? Attention seeking behaviors? Global delays?
Miss Jen will help you determine if this is psychological or physiological. Biological vs behavioral? Hyposensitivity?

    • Remove the power struggle: Pressuring your child often intensifies withholding behaviors, resistance and power struggles. Miss Jen will offer low-pressure options and gentle approach recommendations to help break the vicious cycle.

    • Normalize the physical sensation: Using books, anatomical terms, and relaxed routines, Miss Jen will help come up with ways to help your child feel safe & in control of their own bodily functions. Miss Jen will help you discover ways to help your child overcome poop anxiety, fear of release, or PTSD from a previous traumatic, scary, or painful potty experience.

    • Making it fun for the child and the parent: Taking the fear out of toileting and helping you come up with ways to make your child feel safe, unafraid of releasing in potty or toilet. Implementing her tried & true techniques and her many different relaxing and releasing exercises.‍ ‍

Miss Jen does not push or promote one particular method, book, or author. Nor does she enforce one specific style or technique. She won’t insist it’s “my way or the highway” - “I’m right, you’re wrong”. That’s just not her style.

Miss Jen will incorporate many different methods and always applies varying techniques from various books & journals, research & literature, and the psychology courses and child development curriculum she has studied throughout the years since college.

She works with babies, toddlers, and older children, using various methods to combine a perfect balance of child-led learning blended with guided direction & gentle parenting.

Her GOAL is to help you get your little cutie out of diapers in a way that feels safe for your child! Feel free to take a look at the affordable plans and the various services Miss Jen provides that would work for you!
